Haiti Needs Our Help

By now I’m sure you have heard about what happened in Haiti:

The 7.0-magnitude earthquake caused thousands of buildings to collapse in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, trapping untold numbers in tons of rubble. While estimating the number of casualties was impossible, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said, “Clearly, there’s going to be serious loss of life in this.” HT: Fox News

Below is a listing of legit organizations with which you can give to knowing that your donation will go directly to the relief efforts in Haiti.

You can also give your local churches a call and find out what they have planned in order to help with this tragedy in Haiti. Many times churches will put together a package to send to any of the organizations that I have listed above.

Shut Up and Post!

Shut Up and Post! – That’s right!

Shut Up and Post! STD Message Board – It’s a health related forum that will be listed on this health related directory! Shut Up and Post! STD Message Board has a catch phrase too: Think Outside the Condom and Promote STD Awareness.

As long as people are having sex OR being sexual you must have a discussion about Sexually Transmitted Diseases. People need a place to talk about this stuff. Some of the forums are private and for members only and other parts of the forum are public.

If you are thinking you couldn’t possibly ever find yourself in an unexpected situation of finding out that you have an STD.. Think Again! Even in the most committed relationships this issue can sometimes pop up. The reason for that is because people often assume that they are free and clear when reality and accurate testing says something totally different.

When was the last time you were tested for any and all STDS? Did you know that routine STD testing does NOT include testing for all STDS? The next time you assume you are free and clear you had better ask yourself one question: Am I sure I know exactly what I was tested for?

Shut Up and Post! STD Message BoardSexual Health BuzzYoshi2me.com – It’s all part of the same network! We are totally focused on sharing information, squashing those rumors and lies, and helping people! Happiness Is Helping Others! That’s Our Motto!

Are You Linking to Checkup Today?

Checkup Today is a health directory. In other words, if your site, blog or group is a health related topic then you are welcome and encouraged to join our directory. If your site, blog or group is about fitness and how you take care of your body then that is considered a health-related topic as well. You can choose your button on our bling page!

Since I like to network with others that have projects of importance going on via the Internet I have also created a “Forums” and a “Networks” section. Personally, I am one that likes to support what others are doing and love it when that passion for networking is reciprocated.

If you are linking to Checkup Today will you please let me know? As such I will be going through my links and making adjustments as they need to be made. If you were once listed and would like to remain listed please contact me via our contact form and let me know. Thanks!

PS For those that want to support the effort of our Health Directory we have a Supporters Section which is why you see blogs and/or sites that are not health related listed on Checkup Today. (Wanted to clear that up.)

Please Welcome Blog Mommas

Blog Mommas says to take a break, share your blog, share your Mom stories, and share the fun! Pretty Darn Cool if I may say so myself!

I would consider Blog Mommas to be a great network listing of blogs. There is a listing of Great Blog Dads too. Blog Mommas is home of the Tuesday Tip Jar! Blog Mom also puts up posts of interest throughout the week.

The other thing about Blog Mommas is that I get to contribute posting stuff. I Love It! Sometimes I will put up a cross post from one of my other blogs and other times I just ramble about this, that and the other.

If you enjoy networking with other bloggers this would be the perfect place to start as far as getting your blog listed. All you have to do is post the Blog Mommas button on your blog and send Blog Momma a note asking her to list your blog.

See You Over On Blog Mommas!

Living With Diabetes: I’ve had type 1 diabetes since July 1989. Learning and coping with diabetes from those experiencing it themselves has always been the best help to me. I hope this blog will inspire and help anyone who is living with diabetes or who has been recently diagnosed.

Living With Diabetes is the first to be listed in our “Diabetes” section.

If you have a “health related” blog, site OR resource on the internet and would like to be part of our directory and/or community.. we would love to have you.

The Gift

The Gift

Too often Christmas gets swallowed up in the busyness of shopping and sending cards and wrapping presents. As we rush around, we often miss the wonder of what Christmas is all about.

Christmas began with a gift given to the human race two thousand years ago. It was a child, born in a Bethlehem stable and laid in a manger. His birth was announced by wise men guided from the East by a very special star.

It was the gift we needed most: a Savior, the holy Son of God. This is the good news proclaimed by the angel: “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11).

Why was God’s gift of a Savior so important?

There are three reasons:

1. The greatness of the need. The future of the human race was at stake. Sin made havoc of God’s creation and brought estrangement from its Creator (Romans 3:23).

2. The greatness of the gift. Not only was the need great, but the gift was also great! “This is my beloved Son,” God said, “in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17).

3. The greatness of the cost. Read the inspired portraits of the suffering of Christ in Isaiah 53, Psalm 22, and Psalm 69. The cross was only part of the price He gladly paid.

Jesus Christ did not die for His own sins or because He was a victim of circumstances. He came as God’s supreme gift to you and me. The Bible pointedly asks: “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?” (Hebrews 2:3).

Have you overlooked the really important gift of Christmas? Is God prompting you to look through the odds and ends of Christmas?

God’s gift for you is waiting. Don’t miss it. Right now, wherever you are, you can receive the costliest gift, Jesus Christ the Savior.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)

Merry Christmas!
