People that use Blogspot Blogs

February 13, 2008 |

I wish that the peeps using Blogspot Blogs would open it up so that people could post comments anonymously.

Being able to post comments anonymously allows it so that I can actually link to my blog vs. linking to my Blogspot profile which BTW I do not use any more.

Each and every time I start to leave a comment on somebody’s Blogspot blog I wind up deleting the page because I don’t want to leave one if I’m forced to use my Blogspot account.

To be honest it’s quite disappointing AND it sucks to no end. I would venture to guess that the people using blogspot blogs would get tons more comments if they would be more open as to who can leave them a comment.

For now, I will just move on to the next blog. Ugh!

I agree, it is very tiresome. But is it the individual bloggers who’ve set it up like this, or is it Blogspot itself?

I’m with ya, Angela! Personally I don’t like ANYthing that holds up the comment process. That includes most “captchas” too - many of which are very hard to decipher!

They don’t have to accept anonymous comments for that…they can also set it to accept registered users, which will allow “openid” assuming you have that filled out.

Yes, it is annoying. As a blogspot user I tried using a different comment program but I would up losing over half my comments each day (not sure where they went) so I went back to blogspot.

I would love to switch over to wordpress but I just had my site redone and I don’t want to lose what she did…

I honestly don’t remember the last time I left a comment on blogspot. I stopped trying for this very reason.

It is my personal mission to convert people away from Blogger. Domains are cheap, hosting is cheap, and it’s easy to run your own without having a degree in programming (right Bob?).

Pickel: staying with blogger because of a template, when you know there is a better solution is simply unfortunate. The template you currently have is not complex by any means and could easily be duplicated on WP..

I think that if we were to come up with a list of priorities for our blogs, we would quickly find that blogger doesn’t help out on too many of them. Heck, you’d be surprised at how many people will type in yourblogname.blogger.com…

It’s just downright irritating! Every time I read a blogspot blog and see that there’s no option OR way to comment I feel as though reading it even was a complete and total waste of my time.
