My Food Journal on Checkup Today

I’ve been hearing lately that when you keep a journal of everything that you put into your mouth that you actually stand a better chance of losing weight that somebody who doesn’t have a food journal. I read that in a magazine that I get here at the house and my husband send me a link to a study that backs it up. (I don’t have that link any more OR know the name of the magazine)
I can tell you that I’m in a slump when it comes to working out. I’m a tad bit depressed that I’ve put back on the seven pounds that I was at when I joined our fitness center this time last year. It’s as if I’m exercising in order to maintain my weight. On top of that I hurt my foot a week ago and I have Hashimoto’s Disease on top of that. (For those that don’t know this, Hashimoto’s is an Autoimmune Disease also known as Hypothyroidism)
I’ve been feeling loads of BLAH this week, depressed, and lifeless. I don’t know what else to do really but to blog about it so what better place to do that than right here on Checkup Today. I will have to start from the beginning with my food journal, measurements and start jotting down what I put in my mouth.

For a while I was doing a food journal and I ate so much better! I was completely aware of everything I was eating and it just made all the difference. When I stopped doing it I totally went downhill. I am going to start again.
I’m going to start my food journal too. I just need a little notebook or something to carry around. Maybe we can help keep each other motivated.
