I Brake for Meltdowns

August 5, 2008 |

We’ve all had those moments - or are going to have them. You know the ones, the throwing, kicking, fighting, screaming - yep, the tantrums and meltdowns that most certainly come with raising children. So, how do we handle them? We aren’t all born to be Super Nanny, LOL!!! Never fear! There is help and there is most certainly hope!

I’ve just had the pleasure of reading through I Brake for Meltdowns by Michelle Nicholasen and Barbara O’Neal. This book is full of great advice, ideas, and tips for dealing with the most unruly of behaviors. They address everything from the simple rudeness of not saying hello when greeting someone to bullies, the clingy child, aggressiveness, bedtime tantrums, poor table manners, biting, jealousy, anger, foul language, and so much more!

The book is written in such a way that you can read through it nonstop and absorb it all or you could just leave it on the nightstand and use it as a reference manual when you are at your wits end and just can’t figure out what to do next. I Brake for Meltdowns is light and easy to read; filled with easy to follow dialogue to help you in any situation. It will make you laugh and smile, and what’s most important is it will offer you some much needed help - think of it as your own personal Super Nanny just waiting to be used.
